It had a very tense energy about it... just the way they're always moving, screaming at each other, cutting up vegetables, etc. I was always anxious watching it. Expecting the worst to happen. Best part was when they ~~accidentally drugged all those kids. I read that yes, it was just that money. And the loan shark was their uncle, and if you remember early on he said he would have lent him the money no matter what because he loved Mikey. So it didnt make sense to me that he felt he had to hide it.
