Because seriously, consuming it is like shooting up this massive speedball of patriarchal values. You basically swear an oath of allegiance to patriarchy every time you use. Your brain can't immediately turn and open up an anticolonial/anticapitalist/antipatriarchy book or study material, or have a serious conversation with someone about it. You'd be engaging in fundamentally irreconcilable viewpoints, and your brain knows it. It's absolutely propaganda and I'd put it right up there with Fox News as specifically a pillar of far right wing propaganda. And seriously, if we're getting down to the real roots of things, what better, cheaper, more accessible means to practicing total dehumanization of other humans than porn? I really think there's a porn to mass shooting pipeline, and it's not the only path one can take. But it's so easy to access and so easy to warp the mind, so catered to young men and boys. We have to pick something to start taking seriously. Yes guns, but that's closer to the end result.
