How often

I just had to reboot mine, and whenever I do so, I takes me a moment to remember how exactly to turn it off. I might do so once every 1-3 months, it feels like.

I'll put it in silent mode and reboot once a week.

I've heard it's good for the phone to leave it off for 10 minutes once a week but I never looked into the validity of that claim

I used to do a restart once a week when Apple still had home buttons. Now it just shuts off during an update, or when it's very cold out on a morning run.

Only when I'm trying to see if hitting airplane mode and turning the phone off then back on and then disabling airplane mode will cause it to connect to a better tower.

Least that's how things used to work

I almost never turn it off. But I've always had android phones, so turning them off is always the same. Easy to remember, just hold the power button.

Okay, but how would turning my phone on more often change anything? I'd just have to charge it more often.

I've got an s21 and it's not that easy. You have to use the drop down menu and then drop it down a second time to get to power function. Not difficult but requires an ounce more of effort.

Or you could just press and hold the Side key if you set it up that way.

I....think so?

I've had my setup this way for a while so when I go from Galaxy to Galaxy my settings are always the same as before. Even if it's not the default, it's nothing but a 2 second fix.
