These don't seem like particularly right-leaning things, especially if a valid policy-related reason why gas prices have risen was brought up, and that column wasn't full of falsehoods.

I thought Tapper was pretty in the middle to be honest.

At that time anyone saying Putin wasnt to blame for the US gas prices was seen as a Russian puppet and alt right. People wanted Pat Sajack cancelled just for taking a pic with MTG. Tapper liking one of their tweets is probably up there in getting you lumped in the Alt Right crowd.

Unless that election coverage was an opinion piece, none of the things listed here are based on a conservative opinion except maybe retweeting Ivanka's tweet, and I don't know enough about the context (i.e. what her tweet said, if he offered his own opinion, if he also shared others' opinions) to know for sure.

Making a critical analysis of gas prices instead of accepting a single spoonfed reason isn't conservative, it's responsible. Election coverage from someone who covered that state, assuming it's not written in a biased way, is just information. Suggesting the former PotUS be part of an international delegation isn't really outlandish and looks like a suggestion for unity, with the most questionable part probably being a lack of consideration over how the other nation would view it. A book endorsement is just a personal opinion, and maybe Ivanka had some good insights into why someone would want to read the book, and he thought that this would be useful for someone who was on the fence. (This is the one that really lacks context the most.)

Like it should not be considered a conservative viewpoint to try to add more nuance to an issue or criticize something a liberal said with real reasons.

But sure, if he's like so much of the right-wing heads on TV and radio who don't have an ounce of empathy and can't understand why anyone would ever do something respectful or kind to another person, constantly gaslight the world and blame problems on the left for bogus reasons, and buys into the notion that the world is just going to shit because the next generation is lazy or something, then I don't want to ever see him. It's just the article didn't mention anything like that.

i think it's honestly more about the new CEO (or owner? i forget his job title) that explicitly said he wants CNN to be more like FOX that has people (myself included) upset.

CNN has plenty of centrist republicans and FOX has plenty of dinos, it's not unprecedented for them.
