on season 2 at the moment

it's a good show, but i can't help feeling so uncomfortable like all the time

Yeah I stopped after the 3rd episode that show has like zero chill.

I never seen it but I will check the trailer

Liked it quite a bit, but the main character makes a really dumb decision at the end of season 2 that caused me to give up on the show.

Partly due to the cinematography and editing.

They hang unbearably long on like every single shot. So even just character looking at something is an uncomfortable scene.

i didn't even think about that, but now that you mention it, that makes sense

So have I, unfortunately it crashes my TV.

I have a hard time investing time in something where almost exclusively bad things happen and I always feel worse about humanity afterwards.

basic premise is, like imagine a world where the January MAGA uprising succeded, in the worst possible way, America is now a theocratic dictatorship ruled by the "God hates..." crowd, and basic human rights are abolished, especially womens rights

this is also a world where majority of women have gone sterile, so the remainder are... forced to "pick up the slack", as breeding stock, all in the name of God
the show follows one of these women

it's a fascinating show, but difficult to recommend
anyone who has experience with abuse should probably stay away

only reason i started watching is cause i kept hearing "Handmaids Tale is becoming reality" back when abortion rights were first being threatened, so i felt like i had to see what they meant

Loved the book and sequel, and loved the first season.

It's slowly gotten worse every season though, and just drags on.
