I know, I looked up "pokemon inflation" for the card market status and I was not getting the results I was looking for.

I went to Taco Bell last year and got the deal with 4 tacos and 4 burritos for $10.

Now it's $17 for the same thing!

Yeah I live in the US city with the highest rate of inflation and I don't know how people afford to feed their kids with the prices I see at the grocery stores here.

Sometimes when I go shopping it's like $7 for a quart sized cardboard box of freaking Almond milk

Don't worry, the rich will be just fine while everyone else just gets evicted and the tent camps multiply by 10 so the government can use it as a wedge issue and not fix that problem either.

Our AC will be capped at 78 degrees, theirs will be 68. We will be eating cricket protein bars while they dine the same as they always have. But not to worry, they have the "right opinions" so it's ok.

Lets solve it by printing money indiscrimanantly and paying off student loans and giving everyone stimy checks

My grocery bill has doubled or tripled... that or I basically starve. Protein drinks $5 a pop, bread same. Almond Milk same (like you stated.) It's kind of depressing actually, when you combine it with the electric bill increase and gas bill increase.

Maybe we could just do something significant like restrict billion-dollar corporations from price-gouging to perpetuate their infinite profit schemes instead of focusing on statistically insignificant issues like stimulus checks and loan forgiveness.

Here's my receipt from Taco Bell just now after almost passing out from working out while fasting. Almost passed out like a moron. Mind you, extra meat and cheese in 2022 makes it just a normal quesadilla from 2019.

It's the corporations gouging customers. Walmart is selling milk for $3 to 4 a gallon, while it's $1.72 at Aldi and has been for like 6 months.

Are you saying that I should shop at Aldi?

If you don't mind buying weird brand names you've never heard of, that are just as good as the big names but much cheaper, then yeah, you should. They also have special buys which can be really fantastic. I bought a pressure cooker for $35 that's nearly identical to an Instant Pot that runs $100 on Amazon, and I got a wood book shelf for $40 that looked exactly like one Costco was selling for $150. These deals are limited time only, and once they sell out, that's it forever.

Shopping at Aldi is like stepping into a parallel universe. You recognize the products, but the brand names are all weird.

Only a couple things you need to be ready for. You have to put a quarter in the slot to unlock a cart, but you get your money back when you return it. That's one way they reduce costs, by making you return the carts instead of paying someone. They also don't provide free bags. You either bring your own or buy some. They have paper bags for about 5-10 cents or reusable plastic bags for $1-2 each. It's another way they save money.

I shop at Winco because they don't accept credit cards and that allows them to have much lower prices than say a Kroger grocery store. I'm able to buy an entire week of groceries for me for $100 there. They have regular name brand food. At a Kroger store it costs me $50 just for one meal sometimes.

I have been a little disappointed with most of the Aldi-brand chips. They seem like they're too salty.

On the other hand, they also have some absolutely fantastic Girl Scout-clone cookies for a fraction of the cost of the real thing. Thin Mints, Tagalongs, Lemonades, and Samoas. They've also got a spot-on Oreo clone that's about half the price.

Even at Food Lion, you buy the soffritto, the half box of dry cabernet sauvignon and small portion of whole milk used for the ragu, the pound of 80/20, the San Marzano pasta sauce and maybe some baby bellas with the tagliatelle, you close to $50 and that's pasta for 2. It used to be like $20 and some change at most when I moved here. Mamma Mia!

I gotcha. Unfortunately, I don't think I do... but I need to adjust something because it feels like I'm drowning sometimes.
