Back on the first he had a pretty nasty motorcycle accident. Like broken femur plus other injuries I don't know about. Apparently last Friday he passed away. One of my old managers thinks heart attack or stroke or something. Stroke wouldn't surprise me. Correct me if I'm wrong, (no seriously. Please do. No argument, no hard feelings) but I've always heard that's pretty common with femur breaks. He was 60 years old and had been a meat cutter since his 20's at least. His hands were getting crippled with arthritis but he'd tough it out 8 or more hours a day in that meat shop. He was the one who took me under his wing and started showing me how to do it. What primal is used for what cut. Since then it's one of my favorite things to do at work. It's a lot more productive and keeps me so busy I've been late getting to my breaks before. One of my funniest memories is how if he got on a rant about a subject he'd see it through to the end. It was funny because he'd just keep cutting or grinding and just keep going til he said what he had to say. Guess I'll raise a glass of something to my old friend and mentor. May he be cruising the highways of heaven on his dream bike.

Thanks bud. We all expected him to heal up, physical therapy, and come back to kicking ass in the shop. This came as a shock to us all

Femur breaks can cause internal blood clots and those can cause stroke. Don't know how common is is but it's not impossible.

Unless he was running a meat shop by that point, that's a sad story in and of itself.

Oh he ran a shop by himself for the longest time. He got tired of our bosses not appreciating his hard work and stepped down as manager and came to the store I was working at. He was happy to never run a shop again if he could help it
