I think its much harder for new anythings in todays context because the source material youre looking from has to go against a long history of a variety of jokes, writings, art, etc. Its like watching that Andrew Dice Clay guy.. its not funny and just serves to a bunch of angry dudes who tell their wives to get in the kitchen except in this case this person going off about the prospect of having kids. People (wrongly) assumed he was the guy on stage all the time, where he was actually playing a parody.
