"The Queue" has become the colloquial term for all the people lining up, allegedly over 24hrs, to see the queen's casket.

If there's any social behaviour stereotype the brits are known for, it's obediently standing in line in a highly organized fashion.

I actually associate the word with the social experiment in soviet russia, where the guy just stood in front of a random door and hundreds of people lined up behind him. They didn't know what they were waiting for, but they figured it must be something they'd want if others were waiting for it.

Queue is spelled with five letters, but sounds no different than the pronunciation of the letter "q."

The ueue are in line, waiting silently.
