Starting to pick up and get good imo.

Best episode yet

Lots to like about this episode, but I gotta say my favorite part was watching Larys Strong play Queen Alicent like a fiddle. He gives the impression of someone who could give Littlefinger and Varys a run for their money, which is something the show really needed. He absolutely stole that scene and honestly made Otto Hightowers manipulations of Viserys (even the ones that worked) look like the rumblings of a child.

I also really like how they treated Ser Criston Cole here. The book never really gives a clear picture of what causes his falling out with Princess Rhaenyra but the writers did a great job of pricing together a strong and believable motivation for him.

Good stuff, looking forward to shit really hitting the fan in the second half of the season.

that was some spectacular teevee right there. Really carried the spirit of the original writing well and enhanced it excellently.

Welp, wasn't expecting the end there. Really good episode; looking like The Queen holding all the cards, though I wonder why the snub at The King.

I thought this was the best episode yet. I know some complain that the show is too much talk and I have agreed at certain points, such as episode 2 and the first half of episode 4, but this episode was great. All the talking just built up the intrigue and you knew something was going to happen. Just a masterclass in tension.

Great episode. The wedding was so tense. Lady Alicents entrance with the green dress was amazing.

Random question, they keep referring to the Seven Kingdoms but Dorne is still fully independent at this point I'm pretty sure, is this intentional because the Targaryens are arrogant bastards that think its theirs by right, or what? I only read the main series and I don't remember the details here.

More on the subject of the show, the Criston Cole development is pretty solid. And Larys Strong is well written so far, feels a lot like the real Littlefinger (and not what was in the show)

Yeah I think Alicent is going to grow up to be a bad ass

The Targaryens think Dorne is theirs by right. They officially consider it a part of the realm. The Dornish disagree.

That's why they still say "King of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men" even though the Rhoynar only settled in Dorne.

Daemon says very little in most of the episodes but stands out. Great episode overall and when Daemon shows up, its like "Hell yeah"

Weird that it looks like in the next episode they are timeskipping far enough ahead that they are replacing Alicent and Rhaenyra's actresses.

did the preview say something about it being 10 years since Daemon did something (making it a 10 year time skip, or somewhere around there)?

That's exactly what is happening. That was already discussed for some time. It was said that this was Milly's last episode. the least they could have done was one more sex scene <_<

There's a meme out there that I feel like deserves this comment. I forget what it says but its something like Sunday again and ready to accept new atrocities that Daemon commits. It seems like he does it in every episode and he's awesome so people accept it.

For the longest time, English Kings claimed to also be the Kings of France in their list of titles LOL. Monarchs tend to be pretty arrogant

Also the age jump for the Valyrean kids looked unrealistic from Ep 1 to Ep 5

That was an excellent episode.

I absolutely loved the Parts/Allicent scene, and it's a testament to Matt Smith that he steals every scene he's in even though he didn't even have any dialogue until nearly the end of the episode.

Joffrey's face after the beating was not what I expected to see, haha.

Yeah this is the first time Ive seen this much thirst for him. Maybe its the bad boy persona. I think he looks goofy too.

I do think he looks pretty close to how he was in the book though, at least based on the pictures. I immediately knew who he was when I saw him in the trailer.
