...that they burned the bridge with their previous employer on the way out after accepting your offer?

Particularly if they did something damaging to their employer as part of their separation.

Yes, this topic was inspired by the GTA6 leak.

No lol

In fact my current employer wanted me to join sooner, and actively encouraged me to burn that bridge with my previous employer

Depends what you mean by damaging

theres no reason to be hostile when leaving a job. You can just move on with your life instead of trying to hurt other people on your way out.

so yes, it would bother me if I found out that this person caused unnecessary damage to a business because they were emotional.

The OP literally says:

they did something damaging to their employer as part of their separation.

Technically his answer was fine since that was just an added stipulation.

What I should have done is just worded the topic so only incidents of employee malfeasance upon separation are considered.

Videos and other assets were dumped from GTA6's development and they seem legit.

There's another topic about it here on the board.

This like if they damaged them on the way out out of spite for shitty business practices or handling of said employee I'd hope I'm not that shitty of a employer to cause the same reaction.

If they did it just to be petty yeah

The context is that they deliberately took action to spite their previous employer.

Under no circumstances is that acceptable.

If someone does wrong to you, that does not give you the right to do wrong yourself.

This is the main concern. If you found out that someone deliberately tried to screw over another company on their way out the door you don't know what their threshold for "settling scores" is and you could easily turn them into a liability if you had to let them go yourself.

If it was something like scarface quitting the burger joint he worked at, no.

Context: A rockstar employee was terminated for some possibly bullshit reasons so in revenge he burned the game by leaking all of it online. now if they are found out they are in big legal trouble. TC is asking if you were in a hiring position and found out your recent hire did something like this due to being terminated by their last employer would you fire them on the spot for that or let it go? Personally if I were in that position I'd definitely fire them because they've shown they are untrustworthy at best and could pose a liability to my business projects in the future.

That being said,I hope this fucks rockstar's profits good

Why? Since when did a leaked game ruin a game's moneymaking potential?

The source code was leaked. Now basically anyone can make the game for free.

Ooooohh...

Well...that's up in the air.

What that could mean is someone could...I dunno...make their own game using the RAGE engine. But without access to their assets all you have is engine code so you can't actually compile the game in full that way.

Yes, this topic was inspired by the GTA6 leak.

Rockstar was hacked. An employee didn't do it. At least not intentionally.

If theyre active competitors, trust me, your new employer will probably pat you on the back for it. As long as you didnt do anything thatd invite legal scrutiny.

At the employer level, shit gets super petty.

Will just say though, if youre truly valuable, frankly you just leaving should alone be pretty damaging.
