I really hope season 4 doesn't play it safe like season 3's finale. It really needs to a change up.

I agree, it really seems like they're just retreading the ryan plot from s2. if s4 isnt the last season of the show, i hope its the last where homelander is the main villain. I love the character and his actor does a great job, but theyve clearly run out of ideas of what more to do with him.

He makes a similar face as the final shot in the show in season 3 ending

In this one he definitely was fighting between showing fear and then a smile

Now that he can control his powers, he's more confident.

Yeah, one thing I liked most about the show was that it was willing to take chances. The previous seasons didn't play it safe, there was always something going wrong and awry. It had enough twists and turns to keep me hooked and anticipating what was going to happen next. Season 3's finale literally just reset everything back to square 1. Hell, I wouldn't mind a season of Soldier Boy being a big baddie for 1 season and Homelander taking over the next season, we just need a break from Homelander's shenanigan. The actor does an amazing role, but it's really starting to get old.
