Don't get me wrong I'm not one of those "ACtually Bowser is the good guy" idiots. I get that Bowser is evil.

It just seems like beating him up and killing all his friends every week for 30 years has never done much but escalate matters.

Has Mario ever sat down with Bowser and talked it out? And if there's too much bad blood, can't Captain Toad try?

I'm just not up to date with Mario lore.

I feel like at the end of Odyssey their rivalry is just an overly friendly competition at this point.

even peach isnt threatened by Bowser any more. She may even feel bad for him.

I feel like Bowser is just the quiet fadorah in highschool, and Mario is the well adjusted nerd who's fixing all his wrong doings but Fedorah boy is angry at him for "undoing all his hard work".

They occasionally sit down and play some games together, and show they are friends by playing some sports together, but then Fedorah goes and does something stupid again.

Also Superstar Saga (though only at the start of the game), Super Paper Mario, and Origami King.

Technically happens in Bowser's Inside Story too, but Bowser doesn't know it.
