Now that she is back in the news for reasons I will not address. I just started to think about how much I didn't like her character. They have this show just for her and she doesn't show up because she is in her hoard pile. She sees a guy for second and then is ready to leave her family and her whole life behind. She signs a contract and the "villain" even signs a song warning her how dangerous the contract is and what the stipulations are . She gets everything that wants, gets out of the contact, leaves her family behind. All while putting her friends in danger time after time. Now Mulan she is someone to be looked up to. She suffers actual punishment for her antics in the original legend . In most Disney cartoons, the happy ending was made up by Disney. Many of the legends they are based on have horrible endings, and Little Mermaid is one of them ... Copied to Clipboard!

I am not sure if this is true. Here's a fun idea. Can anybody think of ways that they would "fix" The Little Mermaid, and the criticisms that were brought up? Maybe they know each other and the prince meets and falls in love with her prior to her becoming human? That could make the pursuit more worth it, but conversely you might rather watch the romance develop AFTER she becomes human. Maybe she turns human just to explore the world, and THEN meets and falls in love with the prince? Meh, I don't know. ... Copied to Clipboard!
