I have a new house.

Both parents want to help me with it -- moving, restoration, etc.
They aren't talking to each other. (The context of that is personal.) So I'm having to go back and forth between whose help I accept and when.

Is there a reason you cant just accept help from both?

The refuse to be around each other. If I accept my father's help on Thursday, my mother gets mad because it means I'm choosing his help over hers. But they can't help me at the same time because they're not on speaking terms. So I'm practically having to schedule who gets to help me and on what day.

Sounds to me like its literally as simple as getting both of them there on different days.

Pick a day for your dad to come by, pick a day for your mom to come by. Boom, problem solved.

Then accept help from neither. Assuming it wasn't something completely horrible like one murdered the others parents or something they should be able to be adults for a day to help their child. If they can't, you don't want either of their help. Don't let their problems with each other become problems for you. Stand your ground a little bit.

My parents did this. I sent them a bunch of articles about cancer and sudden causes of death, until they had fear of mortality and regret, and got over it to an extent. But if your parents hate each other enough, this probably won't work.

That's not fair. Just because you're missing an arm doesn't mean he shouldn't complain about getting stabbed in the hand.

Ngl unless you're real patient and have all the time in the world to move I'd probably tell them both to not bother. It's not fair of them to bring their personal issues when you're doing something like moving which takes a lot of time and energy.

This is shitty.

My dad won't use the cleaning solution my mom bought.
My mom won't use the paint rollers my dad bought.

For decades. They've mostly been civil with one another.

Try inviting them to dinner at a fancy restaurant at the same time without telling them the other will be there. Once they arrive to their seats they'll be forced to settle their differences. Sure there may be some conflict at first and some shouting, maybe even the throwing of food and furniture. But if television has taught me anything, it's that everything will work out in the end.
