This is awesome.

  1. Gather local Windows machine wifi IP
  2. Ask the user for the IP address of an Aruba switch
  3. Ask the user for the intended capture port
  4. Log into Aruba switch with domain credentials
  5. Configure a port mirror so that it sends data seen on the capture port to the local Windows machine's IP
  6. Stop the packet capture after 30 seconds


I've watched about 12 hours of Python content on Youtube in the past few weeks. Now I can actually understand a bit of what I'm doing with Python. Now the goal is to improve the script over time. I've shared it with one of my coworkers and it worked on his Windows laptop, too.

I can definitely see myself moving into more of a network software engineer role once I get really good at this stuff.

My boss actually complimented me on my code he looked at it during our monthly 1 on 1 meeting today

Not bad for just being about 3 weeks into this
