Note this is just to me. If you loved it am truly happy for you, it is nice to find things you like.

I have been using meh for so much of Marvel stuff in recent years. But this one was just so bad because in could have been so great.

First off, what should have been taken out 100% is the disrespect to Thor. For the first part of the movie EVERYONE from treated him like the biggest asshole in space. Even children treated him like he was Charlie from Always Sunny.

Then what should have been tone down was jokes. I know has Thor gone into the comedy rout. But so many jokes were pushed in when normal drama would have been better.

Also the bad guy's plan.
The gods suck and can't be counted on. So I will kidnap some children because I know Thor would come and save them. Because he can always be counted on to save people.

And they flat out said they were not gods in Thor I..but I can overlook that because Hercules looked super cool lol

It is like all the parts were there for greatness. I think that why it irks me more then something that is just bland on it's on. It could have been so much better.

Due to the tone of the whole movie, I didn't believe Jane was really dying. I know if I wasn't looking for something else it would have hit me more. They assumed it was cancer but I think she just died of broken heart after seeing how good this movie could have been.

I always thought the idea here was that beings like Thor, Zeus, Hercules, etc., were seen and treated as Gods by mortal beings to the point where they acted as such, but in the grand scale of the universe/multiverse, they're basically just extra strong superpeople that ancient civilizations have chosen to revere.

Obviously with some exceptions like Eternity or the Celestials, who are actual Gods in the context of the MCU
