ultimate_reaver 09/08/22 5:13:13 AM #19:	alien is the clear best. it's incredibly atmospheric and claustrophobic, and a total masterclass in set design and suspense building. aliens is a neat sci fi action movie. i dont like it as much as most people seem to but it isnt bad by any means. it's clearly better than anything after it obviously, but i don't like it as much as the first by a longshot. alien resurrection is not great and certainly has problems, but i think it's a little better than people give it credit for. if it had a bigger budget i think it would have ended up a lot better. the newborn alien has a really cool design alien 3 sucks. im sure theres a story about how it ended up as it did but the result absolutely sucked. it casually killed three beloved characters from the second movie off offscreen because it couldn't figure out what to do with them, and it was for the sake of a tepid bad movie. it looks pretty gritty and cool, but thats about all the positive i can say about it i have never seen prometheus past about the halfway point. its incredibly boring. i at least finished alien 3 once so i have to put it below i have never seen covenant because of all the bad press it got, so i guess ive got nothing to say about it --- I pray god will curse the writer, as the writer has cursed the world with this beautiful, stupendous creation, terrible in its simplicity, irresistible in truth <cite>ultimate_reaver posted [p:967873062] in Rate the A... Xethuminra 09/09/22 4:00:47 AM #28:	Aliens (the sequel) is cool but I can't imagine rewatching it religiously or anything, like the first one. 3 can be tolerable to view multiple times in a row. More than tolerable. Lots of those scenes are great for trailers of the series. It doesn't have the depth or replay value of the original, and for that matter Aliens doesn't have the depth either. At all. Great military fiction and turning the Alien into a multimedia thing, with the hive, and hordes of them, and they basically invented the "Space Marine" for that movie haha. Resurrection falls apart after 1 or 2 viewings, even if you can pick it back up, that's just not it. You're practically asked to hate on the movie as a requisite to enjoy it. Prometheus is a 10/10 movie though. 9/10 without Covenant. Covenant is arguably the only Alien movie that's straight horror. But Alien 3 still at least feels like an Alien movie and it of course has Ripley as the main character. Resurrection is stupid but entertaining. The other three are all easy.
