Turns out the copy of Paper Mario: The Origami King that I bought with the Amazon monies I won in @Anony1125 's topic was the European version, and I didn't notice when I placed the order.

Really should have noticed, at the very least because the rating symbol used in that region is waaay different than the symbols used in this one (green and white with a number rather than black and white with a letter), but I didn't. I've been a lot more absent-minded the last few months, so I'm not really surprised about making a mistake.

I briefly panicked when I realized what version I got, but a quick Google search cleared that right up.

*Chinese versions excluded. Most of those are region locked.

Huh. Hong Kong versions of ps3 and ps4 games are pretty notorious for being your best bet of finding a game that has Japanese and English language options. Meanwhile my fiancee has a Japanese copy of animal crossing and a Japanese copy of Clannad (lol limited run versions costing over twice as much) and as soon as they know the switch is a US region one, it swaps to English and you can't change it.

Eh, I'm just going by the information I was given from that quick search, I can't actually verify anything. It's highly unlikely that I'll ever have a Chinese copy of... well, anything, so I'm not all that concerned about that region's versions of things.

If its an 18+ its a red background and yes we have an 18+ rating without the BS behind it that the US AO rating has.

AFAIK Hong Kong isn't the same as Chinese region for games. Which makes the entire reason behind such a distinction being there kind of make sense.
