Like yeah, it's a fun game to bullshit around with friends but it's not uncommon to see Halo taken seriously in a competitive setting either.

That's what I figured. There was some interview with a 343 devs and he said they're focusing on making their Halo games highly competitive and saying things like how skills and competition was always a part of the series' DNA, etc.

And people got upset over that and are saying things like Halo was never a competitive series and 343 don't understand the franchise, and such.

I get that they're not doing the best job with Infinite and there's a lot to criticize them for, but it seems like people are looking for some silly reasons to dogpile on them lol

That's stupid, concerns over competitive balance have driven designs since Halo 2.

People get upset over everything. The point of this board is to find examples of this that make you angry and post about them

Halo has always been a step behind other fps games and it was total luck that it got normie attention and skyrocketed into massive profits

To be fair, to some people, it's always been about the story and they don't care about the multiplayer.

Then there are those who, after Forge was added, unleashed their creativity on that. A subsection of those people certainly cared less for competitive modes after that.

I can understand some people being less please with a competitive focus. *shrug*

Halo has always been competitive, but 343 has put a special emphasis on esports. There is major lack of content in Halo Infinite for casual players, so people are quick to blame the perceived focus on esports. But as far as I know competitive players don't like the game either. So at the end of the day 343 is just an inept company and Halo Infinite was a botched game.

If it wasn't for the severe lack of content and also the removal of basic expected features (like splitscreen) then I don't think you'd see as strong of a reaction to a statement like that.
