You dont get to enjoy using special abilities to kill people when you could just kill them with a single standard attack. There is no challenge whatsoever.

Experience it all again without the tedium of low level fights with weak gear.

Try new strategies.

Try out tactics on parts of the game that come before you unlock those tactics.

And some games increase the difficulty in the new game.

Some people like to dominate things they struggle with in the first run. And the like to experiment with these sort of things. It's kinda why I used GameShark codes on games that I already beaten. It's a fresh way to experience a game. Some people like that sort of thing and others don't see the point, if you don't get it then you don't get it. It's like asking someone why their taste buds like oranges over apples. There's no point in asking lol

The best way to do New Game+ is if it comes with a brand new difficulty mode to compensate for all the abilities you have at the start.

Im personally not a big fan of it unless theres new content or quality of life improvements of some kind.

Dragons Dogma is a great example of postgame/NG+ done right, not because youre OP but because of the new stuff it adds.

The Ratchet and Clank series does too. It adds new upgrade levels to your weapons, reveals the skill point requirements, makes the enemies harder, and adds a cash multiplier for each enemy you kill without getting hit.

I like it in the tales games because a lot of times the non-MCs get shafted and so it's nice to play through the game as them with all of their kit unlocked already.

I think it's also nice if you want a simpler time playing through the game if you want to relax and enjoy the story again.

Yeah, probably thinking of FFX2, which is slightly less linear. Like, the main story is linear, but there are like twenty different stories spanning the game that can end in multiple ways and there are different endings to the game, so it's more worthwhile to play through it again. In FFX there are like three things that can change based on your actions.

Not everyone wants to play through an entire saga from scratch just to recruit different characters or see an alternative ending. Or to even just enjoy the story/world/level-design again.

A number of games have their own built-in cheat kodes and easy modes. Sometimes NG+ is just there to be an earned set of cheats.

Then there are kases where NG+ fits in with the games cyclical or time travel theme and/or have paths/options that you kannot do without being impossibly over-leveled or already in possession of some item that you don't really get until later.

There more to gaming than challenge.

theres also different types of NG+

The kind that ups the enemy levels is also fun bc it extends replay ability

For those who really like a game, to make different choices and take a different path when the story branches. Usually, as a means to see a different ending or beat a boss that could not have been beaten the first playthrough (or would have required massive amounts of grinding.)

It can be fun to annihilate everything.

Besides, not every NG+ works like that. A game like Devil May Cry's equivalent of NG+ is playing through again on a higher difficulty, and those higher difficulties often need the upgrades you unlocked on your first run to really stand a chance. And you won't have everything unlocked on your first run through a DMC game anyway!

its a shit game dude

way too easy, stupid story, HORRIBLE voice acting, the required blitzball part sucks ass, even the music is subpar for an FF game

the sphere grid was the only decent part in its time, but the idea has been tinkered with and done much better in other games since then and now it just feels basic and outdated in FFX

come to terms with it bro u know its true

yeah that really sucks too

it was released in a time when cutscenes were seen as some of the best parts of the game, so back then people didnt mind it. But now cutscenes are seen as intrusive and shitty (the cutscene is dead) and the best way to tell the story is during gameplay

Replay value.

The first game that I played in which NG+ was a thing was Takes of Symphonia, you needed to beat it three times to 100% the whole game. In order to view certain parts of the game, you will need to play it about 7 times due to how a certain scene plays out in Flanoir.
