Id think Broly could just destroy Goten, Trunks and Gohan easily but even winning he was struggling with killing them. Gohan did ok but also Goku had to save the day again. All else aside, back then he was just a particularly cool character design that became a fan favorite in multimedia, basically. The idea or legend of Broly also seemed to stick with a lot of people. So, if they can nail the personality, could be really entertaining if I understand the direction they're taking or that they took with him. I read somewhere he starts training with Goku & Vegeta on King Kai's planet. But really I imagine Broly would be best served as a character mostly there for comedy outside of fighting, who is capable of some really bad stuff when he gets angry, similar to what everyone is seemingly worried Buu is going to snap and do (but never really does). Broly could explore some untouched points of an unstable character and bridge the gap between Goku & Vegeta, while also opening the door for new Saiyan warrior stories. He isn't exactly stupid. How they use his untransformed state would be critical. I'd make him like a vegetable, so he only really takes this state when he is sleeping or resting, and is always Super Saiyan .5 when he is awake usually. I missed them as a kid (not 100% sure they came on TV actually), and I felt like I was too behind on Super to just jump into Broly. My friend said Super Broly was really good, so I'm gonna watch that at some point. I plan to watch the DBZ ones first. He gives no shit about canon nor has he ever.
