Earplugs, I'm fucking serious man. Tinnitus is fucking garbage and I wish I took better care of my hearing.

WELL ITS NOT LIKE A GIANT THEATER idk I'd say small if either but I don't know how many people usually show up to concerts

It's a group of guys probably like 4 or 5

I have no idea what kind of show you're going, so I will assume you are going to some kind of rock or metal show with a mosh pit.

1. No karate in the pit. The point of the mosh pit isn't to put people in the hospital. If you start beating people up, the crowd will probably turn on you and beat the shit out out of you lol. Don't just flail your arms and legs around blindly without paying attention to the people around you.

2. On the west coast, mosh pits usually go in a circle. Go with the flow of the crowd. You can go against the crowd, which I've done a lot, but be prepared to crash into people. You might also aggro some drunk who tries to punch or kick you. When I went to CBGBs, I noticed they don't do the circle pit thing. Everyone just kind of moshes in any direction they want. I don't know if that's an east coast thing or just a CBGBs thing lol.

3. If you see someone fall down or get knocked down in the pit close to you, pick them up so they don't get trampled.

4. If you're going to stage dive, make sure the people you're going to jump on actually see you. Otherwise, you might end up just crashing into the floor or a wall lol.

5. You don't have to go into the pit if you don't want to. You can just stand on the outer edge of the pit, on the side of the stage, etc.

Cool. Stay hydrated, idk how NIN runs their shows but it can get hot AF. Also if you're not a picture taker, get a shirt or something. First concerts are always a fun thing to remember.

Oh, if it's NIN, you should be fine. I saw NIN during the Fragility tour and had floor seats at the Great Western Forum. I got within about 20 feet of Trent Reznor. The pit was actually tame compared to a lot of punk shows I've been to.

For a massive show like that, you may want to consider parking close to an exit for the parking lot. Otherwise, when you're leaving the concert, you could be stuck in traffic for a long time with everyone trying to leave at the same time.

Personally, I dont like drinking at concerts. I dont like having to get up to piss in the middle of the show. I like to bring a vape, so I can get fucked up while being inconspicuous.

The 2 I went to. One I sat in the front row on a small balcony next to one other couple. The other I literally sat on the side of the stage and no one told me to get down lol. I have a bad back and it makes me more assertive to find comfort. I'll try to get away with what I can to remedy it if it doesn't hurt others lol.

It really matters the concert. Mine were The Roots and then Slaughterhouse which was a supergroup of well known underground rappers. Which makes it wild to me they were so small. Not cool for them, but awesome for me. And they both showed how much they care about their fans by acting like they were playing for 10s of thousands. Both put on amazing shows.

Hope you enjoy your time like I did. You're sexy and you deserve it. I don't think I ever actually seen you, but you have that sexual icon energy, so I just assume.

Wear a The Wiggles shirt.

looks like its a GA show so just be aware that if youre relatively close to the stage theres typically a push when the band starts as people try to get close or pits open up

might want to stand a little farther back if you dont know what to expect

NIN was one of my first concerts back when I was 15, great times

7000 people isn't too large. There will likely be some bad seats but in general should be a good show from anywhere.

If you have general admittance tickets, I'd say stay out of the pit your first conference unless that is specifically what you are going for. Generally there will be a whole bunch of people smashed against the barrier. Then you will have the pit. Then you will have people standing back of GA. Then you will have seats further back. If you have GA first show I would say be good standing at the back of the pit and figure out where you would best enjoy future shows. If you want to get to the very front of GA, you need to get there early (like 2-3 hours, line-up) and sprint as soon as you are allowed entrance into building. If you want to be anywhere else in GA, feel free to show up whenever, even during the middle of the opening act, and you can still easily get in the pit.

Actually watch the show, don't spend your entire time recording it and looking at a 5" screen.

Make sure your ID/money is secure. The bigger the show the bigger the concern of pick pockets. If you are sober, standing in the back, they won't bother you. If you are drunk or high and bunched up around the pit or at the front, well you won't notice incidental contact there.

Dress light. Shorts and a t-shirt. You won't regret it.

Wear your most comfortable shoes.

And yeah, get some merch to remember the show.

It's a little hectic when you first get through the doors. The staff is quickly trying to get everyone in so don't hold up the line. Don't carry a lot of stuff and have your few items(phone, keys, wallet) in your hands before walking through the metal detectors. Wallet in front pockets if you're able. Easier to pick pocket if it's in your back pocket.

Generally the show somewhat starts around the start time on the ticket. Opening band will play for about an hour, there will be a 15-30 min break while they set up the stage for NIN. NIN will play then take a small break before the 3-4 song encore. Most cities have noise laws where a concert can't go past 11 or 11:30 so expect the concert to be over at that time.

Traffic is a nightmare when a concert ends. What I generally do is look up the setlist for the tour and start walking out during the last song. I'm out the parking lot by the time people even make it to their cars.

Normally I'd say this is a bad idea and that you could be missing some very special moments, but....

Its Nine Inch Nails, so maybe do this during soundcheck.

Yeah I usually check out near the end too lol, I'm fine with seeing a majority of songs played and it's nice to escape the rush of people trying to leave at the same time.

One thing is I've noticed that like half the concerts start way later and also sometimes end later than advertized. I usually show up near end of opening bands (unless I really like them) since hanging around 1hr+ before main show event starts can be bit exhaustive.

Earplugs is a good one. Also try avoiding standing in corner near speakers is usually a good idea for obvious reasons.

Also if you're dumb like me there's a fair amount of bands that do an encore. Like I said I usually bail at that point but there's been occasions where I thought the show was done and I hear them firing up the encore while I'm already grabbing my coat in the lobby lol (probably less likely to happen at big shows).

NIN is good act though (haven't seen them live but can imagine they're good going by their front man), sounds like a great gig to attend.

Its been a min since i have seen NIN, they were slated to play louder than life last year but dropped out. I believe disturbed took the spot. Was a very interesting 4 days lol.
