i don't think it's any more toxic than any other competitive scene, but apparently some dudes simply be stankin' at tournaments

Odd things keep happening.
-There were all the sex scandals a year or two ago.
-Some guy launched his top 8 medal into the crowd at evo a while back.
-There was that Evo finals where it was 2 Bayonetta players being boring, not taking it seriously and stalling.
-Their alleged fighting game is extremely boring to watch, I used to watch fighting games and some times I'd have to wait for Smash 4 to be over before one I was interested in to start because it was running overtime. It was so boring.
-There was recently something about a guy coughing up blood or having covid still attending tournaments and letting all the other participants chance it with whatever he had.
-They don't even seem to like each other, the Melee guys are like purists and the new super smash guys have this weird thing where they get hostile if you aren't blindly going with the latest release. You don't really get this with MvC or Street Fighter or at least not nearly as much.
-I heard some weird stories a while back about the best Melee players having to include prolonged sessions of being treated like some sort of celebrity and meeting fans to their schedule.
-There's this YT channel I get recommended sometimes called GRSmash and it's got a bunch of compilations of Smash players freaking out and launching controllers across the room.

They don't shower, meaning any germs or hazardous substances they come into contact with are able to accumulate and build up to toxic levels.

Is there any group that can get to a certain volume without toxic members dragging it? Isn't it inevitable that douchebags will eventually come in and be some the loudest of the bunch at some point of growth?
