If you look at the top 10 companies by market cap, they all make sense as to why they are there except UnitedHealth. How is it worth more than every other healthcare company?

In 2021, 72% of UnitedHealths $222.9 billion health plan revenue came from taxpayers.
94% of its total U.S. membership growth over the past 10 years was in government programs.

If the growth is from government programs, than I think what it's saying is that the majority of the money they made was collected from taxes to pay for the government employees on that health care, rather than paid for by the business or out of pocket by the employee.

They keep buying smaller companies. Their revenue comes mostly form taxpayers cause Medicare and Medicaid are their biggest programs.

I remember hearing it is because they are vertically integrated. Too lazy to google but it was something like they controlled the doctors, the research, the pharmacy, and maybe other stuff. While other health insurance companies are missing one or two parts of the health care ecosystem.
