Yeah just because we don't fetishize our guns or jerk off to them doesn't we don't have them.

This is the kind of thing I've been saying needs to happen. It's going to be the only way marginalized communities have any protection. The police aren't going to protect them, so community defense is the route they are going to have to take.

The thing we need to remember is that the right are basically just bullies. They are violent and dangerous but they are only ever prepared for that to flow one direction. Even people just showing up armed to defend the people they wanted to bully was enough to trigger a meltdown. Literally "reeeeee only we are supposed to have guns" energy.

That being said, being armed when facing down these people is in and of itself an immediate escalation, so if you aren't prepared to shoot soneone if you have to, don't be armed. If you ratchet tensions that high without a willingness to follow through when your opponent is, you are going to get killed and possibly others with you.

I'm not saying don't, because that flies in the face of everything I've ever said on the subject. Only to be very cognizant of the consequences.
