Just about everyone in Switzerland has a gun also, but almost zero shooting crimes. Wonder why that is? Maybe we should mandate serving in the military like they do in Switzerland?

Thought I would read a bit more, and saw these as some examples as to why it doesn't have in Switzerland -

1 - Switzerland is obsessed with getting shooting right. Every year, it holds a shooting contest for kids aged 13 to 17.

2 - Having an armed citizenry helped keep the Swiss neutral for more than 200 years.

3 - Most Swiss men are required to learn how to use a gun.

4 - Roughly a quarter of the gun-toting Swiss use their weapons for military or police duty.

5 - Gun sellers follow strict licensing procedures.

6 - Swiss laws are designed to prevent anyone who's violent or incompetent from owning a gun.

7 - Switzerland is also one of the richest, healthiest, and, by some measures, happiest countries in the world.

8 - Most people aren't allowed to carry their guns around in Switzerland.

You can read more on each of those points here -
