That be the Zelda 2 vs. the Star Wars games, not vs. Link to the Past... these are platformers

The spin attack hits everything around it, but the down stab gives you more control.

Of course, you could have BOTH like in Rogue Legacy 2 :j

I guess both, but I was ass at the Star Wars games from that era. I remember beating those red orange and blue knight dudes with the shields and swords in Zelda 2 by hopping and down stabbing.

What about Metroid screw attack? Anything wrong with a downwards thrust screw?

Down Stab. It's been brought back not only in several Zeldas, but it has also been utilized in Duck Tales 2, Whomp Em, and Shovel Knight.

yeaaaa

I'd put the spin attack as, like, the pseudo-screw attack since, like, if you get hit you get knocked out of it

there are other jump attacks available. The divekick is used in a few games (other characters in shovel knight, as well as TMNT) and there's the GROUND POUND!!

I much prefer when she downward thrusts on me than when she spin attacks, that one really hurts

I actually can't think of a single Zelda after 2 that has a down stab

Link's Awakening side scrolling sections maybe, but that's more like the game allowing you to face the same four directions you normally can

In Minish Cap you can learn the downward thrust from a Tiger Scroll.

In Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword, you can do a down stab finishing blow on downed enemies.

I have played all of those Zelda games but instead of admitting I'm wrong, I'm just going to say that finishing moves don't count, and also they're all only mid tier Zeldas at best
