Desktop browsers have started to adopt mobile-style scrollbars, that get really skinny when not actively being used. ...or maybe this is your problem: https://www.howtogeek.com/365325/how-to-always-show-scroll-bars-in-windows-10/ ...or maybe some ad is screwing up, and trying to set `<body>` to `overflow:hidden` to render a modal popup that... doesn't happen.
