Seriously. They are the king of overpriced DLC.

Take Persona 5 Royal for example, a game which you could argue is already glorified $60 DLC. After charging full price for a rerelease of a 3 year old game with a little bit of extra content, they then have the nerve to peddle day 1 DLC in the form of extra costumes. The fuck?

Then theres the Persona dancing games. I actually enjoy these games. Theyre competently made, challenging rhythm games with some banging music. They arent exempt from Atluss shitty DLC practices though.

So if you bought the special edition of P3/P5 Dancing, you got a HD remaster of P4 Dancing for free. Hey, thats actually pretty cool. But you arent getting the full game with all the DLC included. Typically, when a game with DLC gets remastered the remaster includes all the previous DLC. But thats not the Atlus way. The Atlus way is to be as anti-consumer as possible.

Oh, did you buy all the DLC on the vita version with the same PSN account? Well fuck you, youre going to buy it again at full price.

Seriously, fuck Atlus. Theyre a great development team held back by greedy as fuck executives at the top. I havent kept up with Soul Hackers 2 but Im sure its already bloated with terrible day 1 DLC.

I've heard rumors though that that was originally planned as a sequel but they shoved it in there once they realized a sequel wasn't happening. Still scuzzy either way. Prince of Persia 2008 did the same thing.

That's literally the opposite of being the worst. How are you going to do DLC for an RPG, unless they literally cut up part of the game to serve as DLC like a western developer would. You don't have to buy something as useless as costumes so I don't see the issue here...

Having iconic demons like Mara as DLC is messed up, imo. I dont mind when they do like palette swap dlc demons or alternate designs or anything else like that, but DLC Mara is like wrong.

recently finished SMTV and there was DLC to increase the spawn rate of Mitama (for grinding)

but grinding for exp, skill points/glory, and money are all sold separately, $3 each

They are predatory when done right. If your business model relies on some players spending massive amounts of money, your game will be predatory.
