I've only ever played Sly 3 and 4. I liked 3 better. They kinda dropped the ball with time travel in 4, and it didn't do anything that 3 hadn't already done.

Should I fix this and play the first two?

1 > 3 > 2

The way they restructured the gameplay in 2 and 3 just didn't do it for me. It's not like 1 is anything special but at least it was a fun platformer. 2 was a chore to play with its myriad of unfun mini-games and the way the levels were structured. It did get better after the halfway mark though. 3 improved on 2's formula in every way but suffers from a not so great second half. A so so 3D platformer series in my opinion.

Eh? The Tibet arc (chapter 4) has an incredibly memorable villain. Sly 3 spoilers... I remember Sly being paralyzed by Tsao's extremely sexist remarks and saying "Wow, I've met some bad men in my life but YOU... you're the worst." And then they chose to rob his vault and have Carmelita, a FEMALE cop, arrest him just to give him #karma. That was my favorite chapter. Tibet (4) > Holland (3) > Venice (1) > Pirate (5) > Island (6) > Outback (2)

For Sly 4, I hardly even remember the levels, to be honest. I just remember being pissed off at how pathetically obvious Penelope's betrayal was, and the game acted like it was some kind of big twist when it would've been a bigger twist at that point if she HADN'T flipped sides. Poor writing imho, and not what Sucker Punch had set it up to be in the climax of 3. Dev changes can damage that a lot.
