The fun thing about $10k forgiveness... anyone who has been reliably paying their loans for even a few years has already paid more than $10k in interest so honestly, how can anyone care unless you actually support predatory lending?

But the problem is that this is just a bandaid on a problem. The real problem is that students have almost no choice but to go through FAFSA and interest rates are insane.

They need to allow for refinancing interest rates through the government and not privately. So I get that if someone is at a high risk of default why their rates are high. But those of us who took loans and made careers, we should be allowed to refinance through the government and not have to go private. On top of that, after the 20 year loan forgiveness, that should not be counted as taxable income.

The Tweeter-in-Chief joke referred to Trump spending all his time tweeting instead of actually working to do anything productive for the country. Not the actual content of his tweets. This is something AOC absolutely does. She spends more time tweeting and chasing clout then coming up with ideas that anyone outside her small followingmwould support, as evidenced by her bills never going anywhere.

And if you think there isn't a cult following for her then you truly are delusional. There absolutely is a Cult of Cortez, especially here. Look at literally any topic about her and see all the doughy eyed responses from people willing to follow her to the ends of the earth no matter what she says or does. That's what a cult actually is.

Even though I do agree with her politics, I said it as a joke. And even though I do agree with her politics, I don't/wouldn't blindly follow her in whatever she says just because she said it, the way the cult of Trump does.

I think there may be some run by the FHA or individual states, but nothing like the mass federally sponsored ones from many years ago.

They were essentially a response to the housing market crash of 2008-12 when home values tanked and there was a need to motivate more buying activity.

Didnt really help those of us who purchased prior to the crash and were sitting on underwater equity, but whattreyagonna do.
