Imagine absolutely loving the game from beginning to er, middle. It got kinda weird with the whole 4 horsemen of the apocalypse "guardian gatekeepers of the lacrimosa" thing.

The ending is pretty unsatisfying. So we merely postponed the doom of the world, didn't end it, that's some new lore that doesn't seem like it has a place in the Ys universe.

Dana is one of the best characters and protagonists in the series. Near the end her past scenes were honestly heartbreaking in a game that's otherwise the definition of B-studio level game story.

In present day She's a slash type like Adol. However in her past scenes she can be slash, strike and pierce. And I absolutely loved playing as past Dana, the idea of her transforming into different gameplay styles is what I want out of Ys now moving forward with solo Adol

Lol. It is one of the weirder titles of the series...

I really loved the idea of being on an island and it having dinosaurs, felt like journey to the center of the earth or something.

I enjoyed gathering the other shipwreck survivors and seeing the village grow, it was by far the most fun Ys and that's not even getting into the quality of life improvements that made me want to kiss the developers with gratitude.

it wasn't the best story but it was good enough for me. the gameplay was incredible and it's one of my favorite games ever. and yeah playing as dana in the past was so fun

After going to Ys boards I'm glad I'm not the only one who's a teensy bit tired of the party system and slash/strike/pierce mechanic. I miss playing as just Adol. I was fine with it in Ys 7 which was a great game and even Ys 4, but Ys 8's party members were kinda crap and Ys 9 doesn't look much better even if they bring back Dogi.

If they go back to having us play as solo Adol with the gameplay switching style they introduced in Ys 8's past Dana segment, it would be perfect. I can't overstate how much I would have enjoyed an entire game in Dana's style.

I'm also glad others found that ending... kinda crap. I would have been fine if the game just went with the "meteors destroyed eternia" route as a natural disaster, not this nonsense about trees and some goddess dreaming the world adol and company are in. It's a weird late game and hell late series addition to the franchise
