I got to Morgott and he effortlessly trounced me my first time, but then I noticed there was a gold summon for Melina. Fairly effortlessly destroyed him on my second try with her help. And also Rock Sling.

Does kinda seem like I'm missing the point of the game.

imo the point of the game is actually to figure out the cheese strats

I think it also makes me worse at the game because I think I shouldn't be as afraid of great knight enemies as I am <_<

Never played Elden Ring but every video I see has players using that big baby's rattle looking thing. Videos of players using dual swords, long swords, sword and shield etc seem less popular

There's no correct way to play the game, if it's an option than you're allowed to use it. Simple as that, there's many ways to play which allows for individuality in play styles.

thats just how elden ring is, the game is completely dogshit if you dont cheese. if they just fixed the numbers it would probably be the greatest fromsoft game of all time.

This is one of the many problems I have with the Souls series and Elden Ring. Despite hearing constant gushing praise from the fanbase about how it's "challenging but fair", any discussion of how exactly you can 'git gud' at these games always seem to prompt a load of responses like "use this particular cheese strat against this particular enemy" or "use this overpowered build".

I get it, its in the game it isnt cheese, but cmon 1000%?

NPC summons are FromSofts version of setting the game to easy mode when a boss is too hard for you to beat.

This doesn't make sense at all, you don't know what cheese means.

Cheesing is low effort/skill exploitative ways of beating content.

You wont feel bad cheesing when you get to later bosses and just want to finish the damn game.
