Dont use any of this shit. Literally all you need is salt and pepper. Make sure you let it cool to room temp before you cook it. Pat it dry too, itll give it a better sear. you cooking in a cast iron? Dont grill. Cast iron and butter if you have it. At least if you want to get that nice crust which i like. Thanks everyone. I had two filet's so I did the salt/pepper/garlic on one and used that brown sugar seasoning on the other. both were great, I do prefer just the salt/pepper/garlic taste though. Do a dry brine. As in cover the steak on both sides with kosher salt and let it sit in the fridge for at least an hour uncovered.
