Sony PlayStation is being sued for 5bn in the UK over allegations it "ripped off its customers" with overpriced games and in-game purchases. The group legal action, led by consumer rights champion Alex Neill, could see almost nine million gamers compensated. Sony is accused of abusing market power by imposing unfair terms and conditions on game developers and publishers, forcing prices up for consumers, reports Sky News.

The article just makes this more confusing, literally noting that this happens on every console but only Sony is a target.

So this is either changing the whole industry or going nowhere

Although, mandatory demos and/or refunds for unplayed or underplayed (7 hours) games should be a law. Amongst other things.

So it's not "The UK" suing Sony it's one dumbo and his ignorant group of dumbos who know nothing about law and will get immediately thrown out by a judge.

Mandatory demos along with changelogs being displayed on the store page.

I bought 7 Days To Die on PS4 a few years back after watching a gaming YT channel having fun with it. Only to boot it up and discover the game looked nothing like what I saw and played like absolute garbage. Turns out they outsourced the console ports to Telltale Games before they went tits up and don't have the budget to continue updating. Instead of removing the game from PSN or having a disclaimer of sorts, they just leave it up there and shamelessly take people's money for an early access game that hasn't been updated in 6 years. One of the few times I decide to support a small indie dev and I got screwed over.
I know it's partly on me for not doing my research in this day and age, but still.....

I've literally been demanding demos ever since I joined gen 7 and fumed at this online focus that's all detriments and no benefits. Hell an hour of a game as a "game trial" is enough for me, I just need to feel how it plays to know whether yes, this is a game I would enjoy or no. Even if I end up disliking it 20 hours in, that's fair at least I knew going in what the gameplay was like.

But yeah this is a meaningless suit. Wait wasn't there a class action lawsuit a few years ago? I know I got an email about it and how I could stand to benefit "if we win" but I can't even remember what it was about, Sony has done so much shit (I mean, all of them have but I don't even bother delving in Nintendo's online)
