I spent about 20 minutes answering quizzes and doing stupid busywork with no apparent benefit to myself or to microsoft. Most of the answers are multiple choice, and you just keep guessing until you get it right. Then it gives you points, usually 10.

I got to "level 2", 500ish points, after 20 minutes. A lot of them were newcomer things (click X for 50 points, go through tutorial slides for 40 points, etc). I imagine a regular user would take much longer to get to 500 points, if it is even possible to do in one day.

500 points seems like a lot. You can even redeem those points for entries into draws for microsoft products. But no, I don't want to throw my points away. I want something concrete, I can use. They have gift cards, great! And a fairly decent selection, great! Lets see how much they cost.....

6,300 points for a $5 amazon gift card

Even if I did supposedly get 500 points every 20 minutes, it would take me 4.2 hours, spread over 12+ days, to get a $5 gift card.

TLDNR: Microsoft is attempting to pay people approximately $1.20/hr, in gift cards, to use microsoft edge and bing search.

Probably works out better if you are in a country whose currency is weak compared to the US dollar.

One of the better "deals" is to buy microsoft gamepass subscriptions. A 3 month pass costs 22,500 points. And that's after some "discount" that they give you for being level 2. Remember, the rough exchange rate is about 1500 points per hour, and that must be spread over three days at 500 per day. They want you to spend 45 days accumulating points for a 3 month gamepass pass. I guess it might be practical once you get going, and just make it a part of your routine. But remember, 500 was the newcomer amount. I imagine it tapers down to 100-200 per day for regular users.

it works out worse. I live in canada, where theres always the "you're not american! haha!" premium on top of the straight up exchange rate for CAD/USD. their points exchange likely scales because they aren't idiots.

What, you expected them to give you $60 daily for free?

It took you 20 minutes to get 500 points? Lol I rack up 500 points a day at least in like 5 minutes. Xbox also gives you points like candy.

Rewards is awesome, I have it set to auto redeem a $10 credit every month at a discount.

To get all Rewards stuff daily takes like 5 minutes. The effort vs payoff is pretty great.

Yeah it takes me about 2 minutes to get my sets done every day. That's not an exaggeration. I've timed myself. You can do it under 2 minutes. It's super fast, and the points add up. I'm typing on a phone that MS Rewards bought, sitting in a recliner that MS Rewards bought, about to turn on an Xbox that MS Rewards bought, and play Game Pass games that MS Rewards bought on a TV that MS Rewards bought. All for 2 minutes of "work" a day. It take a little bit of time to add up, but it's almost like free money. My search data for their services. We both win.

You can do all of this from within Firefox. You never need to touch Edge for this.

It's just Microsoft Rewards. No Edge involved, though you can use Edge if you want. I prefer a fork of Firefox myself. They essentially pay you to search on Bing. It used to be called Bing Rewards. Bing is not as good as Google, but if you look at my sign you may find me to be a bit biased. Bing is good for porn though. lol

You don't have to. What you do doesn't matter or effect me at all. Just giving you the facts. I'm poor, so "free" money is nice for me. If you got good money, even 2 minutes of your time a day is maybe not worth it. That's fine.

If you go to Walmart you can redeem the Walmart gift cards to buy gas and groceries there.

Yeah, Walmart is an option for me. You'll have to check to see if it's an option for you. Up to $25 a card.

If you haven't already, set up a Walmart account with a Walmart Pay wallet. You can add your gift cards there. I don't shop at Walmart, so this is just going off of Googling. I wish I could be of more help.

You don't need to pay attention in those quizzes lol. Just click through them.

For the searches just click through the cast of a movie and you're done in a minute.

what exactly are the people doing "in two minutes" to "get 500 points"? Must be some tiered service, because all they offered me were stupid quizzes. "Name 5 cities in the phillipines". "Answer random questions about hiking". etc.

Bing searches. Check your rewards breakdown.

Dude, it's pretty awesome. I've used it for 10 years now we got a lot of gift cards out of it for Amazon, best buy, Target and even for movies. You don't have to max out on everything for searches and quizzes every day. Even then, you can get it done fast You can also rack up points from searches easily by changing a single letter ok a search and pressing enter. Just do little by little.m as you normally do. Search on mobile, desktop and than on edge. You get 270 points max from searches everyday and you can get like 400 total with quizzes. In 10-14 days, you can make enough for a $5 gift card.

It doesn't take an hour. You can get it done in 19 minutes. Don't make a chore out of it I've used being as a primary and never looked back really as google com as a primary search, despite Google having more accurate search results

Takes me maybe two minutes daily and it ends up at $10 per month. 10,500 for $10 Amazon on my account though.
