Nissin is okay as far as instant ramen go.

See, I like to modify mine with soy, sriracha, sesame oil, dried onion.

You cant do that with Maruchan ramen because it already has salt+MSG. Msg is good but with all those added things, its savory enough and if you add Msg on top of that it becomes a sodium nightmare.

Anywhere up to 40 minutes is good enough, I would be happy if I could find an Asian Grocer that close in the mountains. But I love to cook so I need an Indian grocer and a Mexican/South American grocer as well.

Im lucky enough where its 25 minutes from me. But the trick isnt to plan a trip just for going to the Asian Market, its to go there while you are already planning to do other things on that side of town.

they're called "Buldak". i got some recently for the first time ever last week, and i was pleasantly suprised by it

it's also best if you cook some, let it sit & settle for a good 45-to-60 minutes or so before warming it up again. it'll still have spice to it, but it'll be a lot more overall flavorful as well

the same brand also has a cheesy carbonara spicy chicken flavor in pink packaging that's not too bad either

Samyang is the company and their buldak (literally fire chicken) lineup is amazing.

The best is their buldak with jjangjang (black bean) sauce.

I like the texture of the noodles and the flavor packages that comes with them. They make the broth taste good on it's own(and somewhat makes them thicker to my liking), especially if you add fish sauce and other sauces into them. Nissin and Maruchan just tastes bland to me.

I've seen people eat it like that but there are ramen that are actually made specifically for that but you can eat it however you want. Even the ones you're supposed to eat as dry noodles I make broth out of it. I love it soupy.

What's weird to me is people actually break the noodles while in the bag and then pour it out to be boiled.

There are some noodles I eat where these are the actual directions, but I can't remember what they were. I wanna say they were an Indian brand but I can't find them.

I saw some friends in middle or high school put the uncooked maruchan noodles and seasoning in a bag and just eat it like a snack from it(they broke the noodles in the bag and shook it with the seasoning I think). I thought it was weird as hell but I did like it when I tried it.

This topic makes me wanna try stuff. Putting an egg, pepper, or green onions are about the only things I do to spice up my ramen game.

There's no instant ramen brand that tastes good enough to justify the price they ask you to pay over the maruchan bricks. The maruchan bricks are kind of plain sure but they taste good enough and price is unbeatable.

Really dont get why anyone likes maruchan, or top ramen or whatever. My family calls it 10 cent noodles. Cause thats what we use it for. The seasoning packet is tossed out. Though the price has risen a lot over the decades.
