I've been seeing this Final Destination thing in a topic about Multiversus. Is it referring to stage hazards or something?

Final Destination is a super basic stage with no hazards, platforms, or gimmicks. It's just you and your opponent on a flat strip

Baby Park no items would be the equivalent of "Final Destination, no items, no specials, no smashes, no grabs / throws; pretty much just jump and tap the A button."

The best equivalent would be a track that's tough to drive but has little to no obstacles. Yoshi's Circuit (GCN) immediately springs to mind. The recent release of Mario Circuit 3 (SNES) could also be a contender.

Oh so it's the actual name of a stage. I thought it was referring to the FD franchise in terms of hazards/traps. Thanks for clarifying

My point is that you wouldn't really be testing your pure MK driving ability against other players by drifting around an oval for 7 laps (suck it, Nascar). You'd need a track with meatier driving challenges, but without an overly-complex gimmick or series of traps / obstacles.

Do you honestly think that drifting around an oval with no items is a 1:1 equivalent to a no-item Smash fight on Final Destination, in terms of gameplay complexity and displaying one's mastery of the game?

Yes. Final Destination is a level without platforms in a platform fighter.

And it's not particularly well balanced. Characters with strong chain grabs and side kills have a strong advantage.

If you know how to take advantage of the bouncing, you can literally skip half the level and perpetually be in first place

Indeed. Pretty much a no-frills track without any hazards or gimmicks.

Huh it's in the Switch Mario Kart, tried it out. So that's why people suggested that one...

Do tracks from other games receive any changes or are they presented as is? Like is it the exact same one from the gamecube game or do they change stuff up? Question applicable to other track returns from the series
