This is just a hobby I'm wanting to get into. Anyways, The ring light is really good so far for helping with the crappy cam I have. That said, I have a depth sensing Razer Stargazer on the way and it absolutely needs light as it has mid-tier low light compensation. People reviewed it poorly because they 1.) Didn't understand how to install drivers from intel and 2.) Didn't have supported 7th gen or later intel CPU architecture at the time. Because of this, many were returned because they didn't work out of the box. It was a support nightmare for Razer as well, who had poorly trained support technicians- so it was ultimately not reiterated.

I wish Razer would have followed it up, as it has depth sensing capabilities and removes the need for a green screen. This is what makes this camera in particular so special. There has not been anything on the market like it since it came out and stopped being made. I don't fancy the idea of hanging green fabric or painting the walls green. So, why not just use machine learning? I am currently using AI which can be optioned to tax my CPU or GPU to background delete, but it is so much messier than the Razer Stargazer's depth sensing technology and has a tendency to give me a haircut and delete my hands/arms entirely. Most of the processing for background deletion will happen onboard the Stargazer, so I'm happy with that and I will be able to keep my arms and hands for a change of pace.

The most recent webcam offerings from Logitech offer background deletion, but with the same caveats I mentioned above regarding machine learning implementation, requiring more resources with poorer results.
