This purposely takes it out of context in order to make it look like the first offense of Watson was shown leniency and that the nfl is somehow an advocate in favour of going soft on sexual assault.

And the NFL demonstrably does not give a fuck about women or sexual assault. They make Hollywood actors singing "Imagine" look socially conscious.

It's classism

Joah gordons 76 games is the summation of 6 suspensions as well as voluntary games missed. The author of the tweet is purposely trying to mislead readers into thinking it was 1 lump sum for 1 violation.

After 23 accusations, he got traded for a king's ransom and given a huge fucking raise. Slap on the wrist punishment is just a cherry on top. Absolutely disgusting.

Do you think someone who's first arrest is for 40 instances of fraud over several years should be charged with a single count?

Watson should have been immediately banned without pay and kicked to the curb like the worthless garbage he is.

The NFL pushed for a longer suspension, the first 3rd party arbitrator originally only gave him 6 games.

24 separate cases is a pretty fucking loose definition of "first offense."

And I'm pretty sure that even a first offense for sex crimes should ALWAYS be treated more harshly than even the thousandth offense for weed.

But dude is rich and throws a good football, so the government and his employer refuse to hold him accountable. I'm tired of the rich and famous being treated like a more advanced, more important species.

You or I would be fired on the spot without question if we did a tenth of what Watson did. The arrest thing was just a metaphor. You don't need to go to jail for your employer to fire you with cause.
