Too mundane? Sounds more like something you'd see from a haunted puppet than a robot, because with a robot you expect forcefields, energy blasts and most noticeably, some actual AI precision to their attacks? --- Still waiting on that third threat ... Copied to Clipboard!

I rarely see it done from anything other than robots.My first thought was Rashid's spinning mixer in Street Fighter 5, but there's Zangief up there too., Rufus' Ultra 2 in USF4, pretty sure Dark Jak had it instead of the spin kick in Jak 2, the DMC1 puppets I am pretty sure have it, Fire Leo in Viewtiful Joe has something close; a spin that alternates sticking arms out high and low, Voldo had some sort of outstretched limb flail in Soul Calibur, Mario had one as a down B in ssbm.
