Anniversary Edition, in a bundle with Fallout 4 GOTY Edition for 29 bucks (also first time) on Series X.

I've beaten Oblivion before but never Skyrim. Which should I play first? Is Fallout 4 any good? What do?

They're both great games. Between the two I like Skyrim a little better, but that's because I just enjoy TES more than Fallout. I know the console versions of the two have limited mod support, so that should give you a lot of replayability.

You won't hurt things by kicking them, but they have very low health.

You can actually get chickens to take out bounties on you and send thugs or assassins after you if you hurt them. When you kill the attackers, you'll be able to look bounty notes from that say things like
"Kill <playername>.

-Chicken"

NPCs you attack or steal from can do that too, but it's especially funny when it's a chicken.

Serious answer, get the unofficial patches for both games. Trust me, they make playing Beth games MUCH more bearable.

For the XBox version you can look it up on the Mods option in game. It's not CC, it's free but it's a separate download.

The DB assassins just show up regardless, similar to how the Thalmor begin harassing you. The Hired Thugs though, for stealing or assault, those can be tagged by an NPC. And, yes, animals can hire them, or report crimes. Like, literally, if you kill someone on the road and a deer sees you, you must kill that deer to eliminate the 1,000 gold bounty. Good luck...

Love me some skyrim, platinum'd it twice. There isn't really a wrong way to play, but stealth archer is the most fun and will always be viable at every level. I assume your edition has the DLC's, so be careful of wandering vampires. They can infect you and sometimes kill npc's, so try to deal with them away from towns and people. If you get infected you can take a cure disease or pray at a shrine, but if you take too long to cure you will become a vamp which can be annoying if you aren't interested in that playstyle.

Once you're done and/or comfortable with the game, look up "Fudgemuppet" on Youtube for some interesting playstyles and things about perks you may not realize they affect.

I downloaded the special edition of the game from Xbox Gamepass last year, played it for four months straight and found it to be the overhyped, vastly overrated crap of the first order I always knew it was.

The rewards are crap.

All the dungeons are just copy and pasted shit.

The story is garbage.

The radiant quests get old, boring and tedious fast

Do yourself a favour and go and play Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen as it kicks the ever loving shit out of Skyrim,

Nice tc.

Play skyrim first before fallout 4. Fallout 4 is just more refined gameplay wise so playing that first might ruin skyrim. Fallout 4 is the best single player 3d first person/3rd person pov fallout game atm.

What made me keep going?

  1. Boredom I had nothing else to play
  2. I wanted to experience the full game before judging
  3. I did it a second time on one of my secondary Xbox accounts so I could see what the game was like with all the knowledge I had obtained in my first run through and not making all the rookie/newbie mistakes I did on my first run through.

Skyrim is better between the two. Fallout 4 feels so incomplete and the world feels so empty, I always get bored pretty quickly and it just feels like there isnt very much to do or explore.
