I'm sad it's over.

Real good finale. Thought it was extremely appropriate. Some big escape would have been pointless and a big death would have felt out of place. Jimmy going to jail was the only real way things ever shoulda went, but it was a fun ride with the deal and getting Oakley in there.

Good finale. I just didnt like because it just makes me feel depressed and sad af lmao

Some people gonna be mad that the "monster" Kim Wexler isn't rotting in a hole.

/tv/ is melting down.

Damn, that was so bittersweet. What a great series. Loved the cameos.

I was excited to see Marie make a return. Almost thought Skyler would too. Seeing Walt again was nice, that cameo felt like early breaking bad when hed get annoyed by Jesse.

Everybody made a return in some form, Mike at the start, and Chuck at the end! Felt like season 1 all over again.

Loved the time machine theme. Mike was honest, Jimmy bailed. Walt was condescending and greedy, Jimmy bailed. And then at the end they show Chuck with the book, right after they had a little argument. Jimmy wishes that relationship could have been repaired and he had his brothers support.

His confession and protection of Kim felt like Walt in Ozymandias laying the blame squarely on himself and trying to take the heat off Skyler.

Walt is dead, Jesse is free and Saul/Gene/Jimmy quietly atones for his crimes in prison.

I guess in the end, Jimmy did one good thing, by protecting Kim (even though it is complex). I think him finally confessing about his brother is the big turnover. And the universe threw him a bone by letting him be respected by the prisoners who he supposedly influenced or possibly helped before.

I still think he is gross.

The show was so good. Kim was an excellent character, really great whenever on camera, even when she didnt say a word.

I would love to see another series, but what would they do? I dont want to focus on Gus and friends. Jessie would be an obvious choice. Maybe throw a curveball and do the film students, or even do Kim.

I think they said this was it, its done. No future spin offs or anything, Gilligan said so from what I read. It's kind of perfect as it is.

A lot of that felt fanservicey, IMO, but at the same time I can't blame them for being a bit nostalgic about the characters they've created over the years.

It wasn't really fanservicey. It was the Breaking Bad version of the Ghosts of Christmas Past/Present/Future kinda. Like at each important aspect of Saul's career from issues with his brother, getting into bed with the cartel, to helping a meglomaniac start his drug empire his main goals were all leading him down the same path. And he knew it and was a willing participant the whole time. He was never going to get better.

That plus the knowledge of Kim's confession hit him to where he kinda turned around to do something selfless for one of the first times in his life.

They were in the basement of Ed's vacuum store. It was a safe house where they stay until he gets everything prepared to move them out. Depending on how "hot" his clients are, they would have to stay hidden for a much longer period of time. So they implication is they were there for a while and why Walt was getting testier and testier with Saul/the noise.

It wasn't unrealistic it just kinda.... ended

Plus we never got to see Saul ask Gus or Hector what they would have done with a time machine XD

Gilligan didn't really write it off completely but he did say he wants to end on a high note instead of running it into the ground.

Imo that's a pretty respectable move. I think he probably really wants to continue the BB universe deep down. And he totally could, but this is also a perfect ending. The line between expanding and milking a franchise is very thin these days. AMC already has their cow with TWD.

I used to live in the area Kim ended up in, in FL so it was pretty neat to recognize the street they were referring to for that restaurant

I hope he finds role for Tony Dalton in his next show

and sure, as much as i would want more BB/BCS related content, i think its better to pull the plug for now. i mean, we had like 13 years of great television by Vince Gilligan and friends. personally i feel pretty satisified!

I thought it was good. It made sense. I liked how Saul is popular in prison because that's the ending I sort of wanted. Still wonder about Kim and the civil suit from Cheryl. Kim might be getting punished still, which many want. I guess it says all for itself though.

Not going to lie, if they went with Saul getting the light sentence in one of those easy prisons, I'd still have liked it too. I was digging that part even if he turned completely on Kim. He'd be already out by now. Part of me wanted him to be punished and the other wanted him to get away or get away lightly with everything.

Rolling Stone asked Peter Gould how the script handled the three personalities. The written shift from Gene to Saul happens in the holding cell when he starts laughing after he reads the graffiti about the lawyer.

Loved the episode/ending. Love the buildup about regret/things that he might change, finally leading to Jimmy admitting he regrets how he fucked Chuck's law license which led him to suicide.

Also, really nice touch when Kim and Jimmy were sharing a cigarette in prison- the scene was black and white but the flame on the lighter and the end of the cigarette were in color. My wife didn't notice until I pointed it out to her.

I know Vince said hes done with the BB/BCS universe, but how about a show about where BB left off with Huell? Hes still in that room, waiting as he was told:

I hope this isn't the topic where I've harped about it a couple of times, but I've always thought that what Jimmy did to Chuck was much worse than what they did to Howard. At the end of the day, HHM would have been a few million dollars richer after the Sandpiper settlement. Chuck lost his career on a whim. (And yes, Lalo, but that wasn't foreseeable.)

Im not sure where I land on this but its not as simple as you say. They were in the process of ruining Chucks reputation, making him look like a drug addict. Its not just about Sandpiper. We dont have enough time between what happened in the settlement and Lalo killing him to know what would happen next, but it is possible that his reputation would be tarnished and things would spiral. They were already downsizing the firm. And who knows if Jimmy/Kim would have kept up to continue to fuck with him

there's something poetic about Jimmy's downfall.

i mean, he started by helping, or rather, scamming elderly folks and ended in the same way...

that "I trusted you!" line really hit hard!
