That's nice. I just know that 98% of one party would implement abortion laws that would have killed my mother, and 98% of the other party wouldn't. It'd be nice if more Democrats were in so nobody had to deal with this archaic horseshit.

This is the senate presently. The House is a little more of an unambiguous majority.

Do you think votes to pass legislation will go well? I'm also sure you at least know how the Supreme Court looks at present.

Everyone will definitely rightfully moan about the more Conservative elements of the Democrats, like Sinema and Manchin. That's why I said the whole "98%" bit earlier, because there are obviously going to be outliers on certain issues within both parties - a lot of that is dependent on complex factors within their respective states. That's why, however disappointing they've been, it'd be...way preferable to have 60-80 Democrats in, and all of these terrible things that 2% of the Democrats inflict on the US, and all the Republican party inflict on the US, will be moot. The Republican party truly needs to be thrown in the trash before anything can be done about getting a party better than the Democrats in.

The majority leader is still a Democrat. The VP is also a Democrat, so wouldn't the Democrats technically have control here.

Barely? It's not a clear majority, so suggesting they have 'complete control' is a bit disingenuous.

But the US as a whole isn't. It's specifically one party that's doing that, and they're doing that for a whole host of issues that shouldn't even be in question. Sure, the Dems aren't exactly great in a lot of ways and the hypocrisy can get a little annoying, but at least they aren't actively trying to make everything worse (or when they are it's at least slightly offset by doing something beneficial). It's like choosing between a roommate who farts in the kitchen every morning while you're eating breakfast and a roommate who pisses in your bowl of cereal every morning: Neither are particularly great and you'd prefer a third option or to live alone, but in a scenario where all you have are those two options, one of those is clearly a better idea than the other and "they're both equally bad" is a ridiculous take that isn't nearly as reasonable and open-minded as you think it is.
