i matched with a dental hygienist on okcupid once, though, and she was extremely boring. We didn't have anything in common but I really wanted a date. I pulled out a smoke in front of her and she got pretty offended. come to think of it I told this story already too.

then we trauma bonded about how both of our dads were abusive in the same way, were both gone for long periods of time at random and both of us stopped seeing him completely around the same time.

a lot of really weird coincidences

i consider it a blessing from god that we found each other the way we did. we're totally inseparable now.

Knew her growing up, our parents introduced us, and we were basically childhood friends.
We always hung around, the first time I cried was when I discovered she was moving away and wouldn't be attending the same school anymore.
Eventually we re-connected through AIM, and it was eventually agreed by her parents for her to move back here and live with us, and we went to high school together.
We knew when we were dating age, that it was meant to be, and we went to the Prom together. We were called names by our supposed "friends", and a lot of push back because of what she was, and I'm not going to lie, it was tough....

We eventually decided to go out of state to go to college together, and faced a lot of issues, because she's who she was, again -- but worked through them, and found out who our friends were and cut myself off from the bigots -- now living in a state where cousin marriage is legal, and we're married!

Well we met on bumble. She had been in a very long term relationship(13 years) and had never used a dating app.

my last few relationships were all from apps.

I was the first person she met, and we hit it off. Been dating nearly a year now :3

what a beautiful story, we can't always choose who we fall in love with, its how we handle that adversity that makes us special

We both reached for the last jar of pickles at the supermarket (it was the great pickle recession of 2005) I didnt want to let go and she didnt want to let go, we looked at each other and both let go and in a cascade of broken glass and pickle juice we fell in love
