Overweight people have been looking to online sessions in order to avoid what they feel is fat shaming from their doctor. If they go in for something like foot pain, the doctor will usually say "well, you are overweight and that definitely plays a part." Patients feel much more comfortable with online sessions, shocked doctord say.

I've read stories about doctors who missed a serious diagnosis because they were so focused on the person's weight. Like, it's actually pretty common for fat people to go to the doctor for a real problem and the doctor just says no it's because you're fat

I believe that. The answer isn't to stop addressing problems that come with weight completely tho. That's ridiculous

If my doctor told me being 130 pounds is perfectly healthy, Id be like "this guy is a fuckin idiot. I need a new doctor"
