I've never played any other Far Cry game.

They had a free trial weekend last weekend, then I bought it used to keep playing it.

I'm having fun, but I also haven't played the story since like... Monday

The bones are identical to what they've been for a decade but 6 added a lot more padding and arbitrarily changed a bunch of mechanics to make them less intuitive.

I loved Far Cry 3 and 4. 5 wasn't bad but wasn't as memorable.

For some reason, Far Cry 6 wasn't enjoyable to me. The story and theme wasn't pulling me in, a lot of the quests were just padding imo, and the gameplay wasn't changed enough to keep it interesting. Actually what they did change or add, such as the different ammo types for different enemies, just made firefighters annoying.

Far Cry 6 is very similar to the other games but has more to do then FC 5 and New Dawn. Far Cry 3 and 4 were the two best games so far but Primal was really fun too.

Far Cry 5 and New Dawn are the weakest entries to me with Far Cry 6 getting back to what made the 3rd and 4th game more fun.

Got the DLC. and the Achievement for Vaas where you need to carry 8000 cash at any time

proc'd at 20,805 and after I've already maxed my Permanent Skills (which involves multiple purchases of individual skills that cost over 8,000) and nearly maxed all my weapons.

The previous ones have an actual perk/XP system.

6 elected to put them on articles of clothing instead.

So the old games have you get stronger with time, the new one dumped it for utterly no good reason.

The biggest difference with 3 & 4 is that they had more of a focus on animal hunting for the upgrades. So in order to get the next tier of pouches/wallets/weapon slots/etc. you would have to hunt very specific animals. If for example, you wanted to carry more ammo, you would have to hunt and skin 5 badgers, then 10 cassowaries, then 3 sharks, and then 2 panthers (or some such arbitrary sequence).

Iirc, the animals in 5 & 6 gave generic items, so it became a lot easier, but also meant the animals were kind of pointless.

I'd say 4 and 5 are worth playing. maybe 3 too but I miss all the QoL improvements from 4 and 5.

Primal was fun but I never finished it. I was too pissed they didn't allow multiple save files when they added the hard modes.

I thought 3 was the best of the new ones, but they are all pretty similar. I really suggest Blood Dragon, it's about a third of the size, and over the top with good humor and neon 80's weapons and shit.

Twice, actually. My second run was on Mind Level 5 but I didn't do all 20 locations and all 20 waves the first time.

I'm currently playing 6 and enjoying it, but that's my biggest issue with the game.

I played 4. And I played for maybe 10-15 hours. Just dropped it after that. Did nothing to keep me playing. Always felt like it was a series that really could do nothing to distinguish itself. Never cared to play any of the others. Shooters in general have slowly been dropping in quality over the past decade at least.

3-6 are all 90% the same. if you like one youll probably like the rest and vice versa.

Definitely try some of the others. Primal is probably one of the most unique FPS games I've played

i have that. never got around to it. ton of trophy's. 24 hour platinum.
highly worth it.

as for far cry 6. there's a chance i could play it after next game. it's either that or sleeping dogs (ps4) EU copy.
