You run around as a doctor trying to do the impossible everyday while trying to manage incredibly scarce resources >_>

Its one of the most unforgiving games Ive ever played tbh since theres never a time youre NOT struggling

Planescape Torment levels of writing too

I bought Pathologic 2 after watching hbomberguy's video essay on the first game. Haven't actually gotten around to booting it up yet, though.

Now that's pretty high praise. Is it as freaky trippily written like the first game, too?

I don't play games that remind me of depressing realities on purpose lol.

I was playing Metro: Last Light early in the pandy and there's a part in that game that connects to the pandemic early on in a way that made me wanna cry. It felt like it was on the verge of triggering a panic attack. But also....I was enticed to keep observing the area.
.

it was literally people being put inside plastic sheet rooms slowly coming to the realization they're dying and can't even see anyone they love in-between the time of the realization and death.

Absolutely freaky trippy and probably even more so since the game makes it a point to tell you the first game happened but that this isnt a sequel either.

I know that doesnt make a lot of sense but once you play it youll know what I mean. I dont mind revealing that but since its all revealed to you in the literal first minute of the game lol

The fantasy elements in this game are enough to distract you from a real pandemic while putting the gravity of a pandemic all on you and you alone. The game is definitely bleak since the centerpiece is this idea that no NPC is untouchable from the scourge of an outbreak while being actively encouraged to embrace that reality.

Lots of games have this trope but this game is one of the most punishing games Ive ever played lol
