Ive felt like I should have went to a Psychologist years ago. However a few things stopped me. First off, Im pretty damn sure my insurance doesnt cover it. I havent checked in some years but I think it doesnt. Second was that since my insurance probably didnt cover it, its safe to assume the out of pocket cost is very high for this. Like bare minimum of $200 per hour type of thing.

This has always been an assumption. Maybe its better than I thought?

a counselor / social worker is supposed to cost $60 for an hour session, although some of them will try to charge you more

a psychiatrist (if you need to take medication) will cost $200 per hour

a clinical psychologist should be somewhere between $70 and $190
